American Association of Occupational Health Nurses(AAOHN)
Occupational and environmental health nursing is the specialty practice that provides for and delivers health and safety programs
and services to workers, worker populations and community groups. The practice focuses on promotion and restoration of health,
prevention of illness and injury and protection from work related and environmental hazards.

National Association of Safety Professionals
In industry, business, and government workplaces, safety programs are based on one of three principles: Regulatory Compliance, Monetary Savings, or Ethics.
Those whose programs are based on regulatory compliance are concerned with avoiding fines and citations and base their safety decisions solely upon existing
safety regulations. Those whose programs are based on monetary savings are concerned with reducing their cost from employee injury, illness, and death.
Those whose programs are based on ethics are concerned with doing whatever is necessary to provide a safe workplace.
